When i first received this book at orientation for my college, i thought to myself "What the Hell", i thought i left summer reading back in high school. Then i began to read and immediately the book captivated me. It started off by explaining the how two boys with some of the same circumstances chose different roads and ended up in two different places. One of them in jail, and the other an author who happens to be the author of this book. The big theme that stood out to me in this book was parenting styles. Everyone knows that you are a product of your parents as much as you hate to admit it. But sometimes I sit and wonder if you can make up in your mind that you will be than your parents. Maybe you cant make up in your mind at the age of 7 that you will be better than your father. Maybe fate takes over. Or maybe you can choose your own destiny.....
